“The
Glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former, and in this
place I will give Peace”
says the LORD of Hosts.
- Haggai 2.9
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
Greetings to you in the precious name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Let
me introduce I am Emmanuel Viki as the Pastor of Elim Tamil Church,
Auckland.
Elim Tamil Church belongs to Elim Christian Centre (ECC) in Auckland. Pastor
Luke Brough is the senior pastor of Elim Christian Centre, Auckland.
We conduct service in Tamil on every Sunday at 10am & 5PM. Apart from
regular Sunday service, we also have other ministries within and outside the
church like Women’s ministry, men’s prayer ministry, Youth programme, Sunday
school, Ministry for Senior citizen, all night prayer, fasting prayer, early
Morning Prayer, Community outreach to reach the other un-churched Tamil
community.
Our Tamil congregation is growing steadily. The purpose of Elim Tamil Church
is to be a bridge for the Tamil community in Auckland as well as in New
Zealand and to the nations.
Elim Tamil Church was started nearly 4 years ago with a vision to reach the
Tamil community in Auckland. Today I am glad to mention that Elim Tamil
Churches had been established in overseas viz.,
Chennai,
India, and Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.
I am eager to share the Good News about the Lord Jesus Christ who saved me
from my sins and set me free from all of my bondages. Are you depressed,
lonely, sick, stressed, worried, lacking peace of mind, and you feel like
giving up? Come, listen and experience the healing touch of Jesus Christ and
feel the peace in your hearts.
I pray that our God blesses all.
Yours in His Service,
Emmanuel Viki.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------Tamil
services and Sunday school
What is a Children
church or Sunday school?
Sunday school is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading
people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building on-mission
Christians through open Bible study groups that engage people in
evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and
worship.
Languages in Sunday
school
Children are taught mainly in English, but in the
younger classes, teachers may use both English and Tamil. If
there is a child who has difficulties with English, a teacher or another
person will help the child

ELIM Tamil Church –
Youth
The Youth
division of the ELIM Tamil Church is a small vibrant community with a good
mix of culture and a generous outpour of energy & talent.
Apart from
the regular Friday evening sessions that whizzes past for an hour at Pastor
Viki’s residence, the youth also enthusiastically indulge themselves in
various outreach ministries like the one for senior citizens, street
evangelism and other team building activities like Sunday school for younger
kids, singing, play acting & choreography. A recent addition to their
activity list being Bible reading during the Sunday evening service which is
done on an eagerly followed roster basis. Fun-cum-study camps are also
organised on a yearly basis. It is without doubt that God’s grace and the
ever watchful & ever youth-filled motivation of Pastor Viki has seen the
youth steer so far with great success. May we continue to do his will &
bring Glory to HIS name.

The Senior Tamil ministry
“Evergreen” was started in November 2005 with the purpose of reaching out to
the elderly Tamil speaking immigrants. This group has now up to 35 under the
blessed leadership of Bro. Chris Kunanayagam & Bro Silas,. We meet on the
every last Saturday of the month in the Elim East chapel with a Christian
purpose of sharing happiness and companionship. When the weather has been
kind to us beings from the tropics, we have done a few fun outings to the
Howick historical village and the botanical garden. The Tamil youth group
chips in as volunteers to help out with the games and the food sessions.
Our focus is to battle
loneliness in the senior Tamil community through a strong Christian
commitment of love and sharing.
